Minute ventilation

The total volume of air moved into and out of the lungs per minute. Tidal volume × breath rate.

Buteyko-influenced practices deliberately reduce minute ventilation to train higher CO₂ tolerance. Over-breathing raises minute ventilation without a metabolic need.
