Nasal nitric oxide (nNO)

Nitric oxide produced continuously in the paranasal sinuses and inhaled with nasal breathing.

Also known as: nNO, Nasal NO

The paranasal sinuses are an important source of nasal nitric oxide, some of which reaches the lower airway during nasal inhalation. Its precise contribution to performance or clinical outcomes should not be inferred from route of breathing alone.
